Unions are outraged after the New South Wales government proposed a change limiting workers with a permanent impairment due to a psychological injury from accessing workers compensation.
The proposal would increase the threshold for receiving workers compensation to only include those who can demonstrate they’re unable to live alone, care for dependents, or function in society.
Estimates say the change would limit approximately 95% of workers under the current scheme from receiving compensation.
