In July 2025 we upgraded to a brand new state-of-the-art digital studio – a full transformation that’s taken us from top to bottom, including fresh paint, a new broadcast rack, and cutting-edge AEQ digital desks. Although the studio we all know and love has served us incredibly well for the past couple of decades, it was time to move forward and upgrade. This new chapter builds on everything that came before – stronger, smarter, and ready for the future.

This upgrade isn’t just about shiny new gear, it’s also about:

✅ A crisper, more reliable sound

✅ Adjustable desks for greater accessibility

✅ Redundancy systems to keep us on air, even in tough conditions

✅ And a safer, smarter space for our team to work in every day

We’re incredibly proud of what this upgrade represents: keeping up with industry standards, building resilience, and making sure Wangki stays strong and on air when our community needs us most.

We’re now working on securing funding to upgrade Studio Two and a new AM transmitter, but for now we want to send out a massive thanks to our major sponsor, the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) – this project simply wouldn’t have happened without your support.

We also want to acknowledge:

🔧 Our brilliant techs, Ben and Ken

📡 Our mates at FX Comms

🖌️ Our friends Eddie, Jarrod, and all our amazing helpers who helped bring the space to life

💰 Our generous supporters: Horizon Power  Water Corporation Community Broadcasting Foundation and Bundu Contracting.

It’s been a huge team effort with many hours put in – but we think you’ll all agree, it’s been well worth it.

Watch this space – there are still a few more surprises to come!

And in the meantime, please join us in thanking everyone who helped bring this project to life and enjoy the pics of the journey below.
