ROCK THROWING

  • Rock Throwing Damage Escalated over the holidays
  • Including local organisation, trucks and travellers and locals cars.
  • Police working with local organisations to keep the kids busy during the day.
  • There are also some diversionary ideas such as less damaging target practice being considered.

ALCOHOL

  • There have been a number of quite large seizures over last few weeks.
  •  Due to local intelligence letting police know when loads were coming into town and drones on back tracks into communities.
  • Alcohol and drugs bought in illegally into town cause a lot of harm.
  • Drugs that have been seized have resulted in charges.

RODEO

“ – Amazing event.

  • One stolen car but recovered very quickly.

ATTEMPTED MOTOR VEHICLE AT LODGE

One attempted stolen motor vehicle incident occurred at the Fitzroy River Lodge after Owner interrupted two young people and held them until police arrived.

Travellers are reminded to keep keys are secured at all time.

COURT CLOSURES ISSUES AND WARRANTS

While the Fitzroy Crossing court will re-open from August 3, if you have not arrived at your scheduled court hearing at Broome let your lawyer know to avoid an arrest warrant if at all possible

If you do have a warrant to be dealt with arrive at the police station early.

STAFF DEPARTURES

Due to end of contract, several staff will be leaving in the next few months and will be sadly missed. New people are on their way!

Locals may have seen the amazing Sanchia McCarthy at the Fitzroy Crossing Police Station front desk. WA Police are looking for more people to train in the role she has as a Police Auxillary Officer. You can keep living in Fitzroy Crossing and get to help your community.
